If I were watching a game from Cowboy Stadium I would find the jumbotron distracting. The Dallas Cowboys are dealing with enough distractions of their own right now. With a 1-4 record and the division leading New York Giants in town for Monday Night Football, this could be a make or break game for the Cowboys and their playoff future. So will Dallas prevail or will the Gmen emerge as the team to beat in the NFC East? Share your views.
Sunday Night Football Recap: Brett Favre Looks/Is Old
Last night, Brett Favre played like a 41 year old man. His 3 interecpetions, one returned for a GB touchdown, were the main reason the Vikings lost to the Packers 28-24. In classic Favre fashion, he gave his team a chance to win the game in its final moments, which included an apparent touchdown pass to Percy Harvin that would later be overturned.
So where do the Vikings go from here? Favre appeared injured, perhaps a relapse of the ankle injury that has plagued him for years, and the Minnesota schedule doesn’t get an easier with an upcoming trip to the 5-1 Patriots on Halloween. Can they still win the NFC North or will Tarvaris Jackson be their starting QB by seasons end?
For anyone who’s ever been to Lambeau Field, is the entire stadium made up of bleachers or are there individual seats as well?
NFL Week 6 Recap: The Greatest Show on Turf Revisited
I’m not quite ready to proclaim Sam Bradford the next Kurt Warner, and Danny Amendola is no Isaac Bruce, but people have to be intrigued by the new look Rams. Bradford has brought a pedigree and instant respectability to the quarterback position and the defense is full of young, high draft picks. A 3-3 start to the season doesn’t guarantee the playoffs, or even a winning record for that matter, but the NFC West is so weak that nothing is impossible this year.
We may also want to take a closer look at the San Diego Chargers who continue to mystify their fans with another early season swoon. The Phillip Rivers led offense has plenty of weapons, even without Vincent Jackson, and has shown an ability to dig themselves out of early season setbacks before. But, when you watch a rejuvenated LaDainian Tomlinson carving up defenses left and right for the Jets this year, you’re left wondering if the real problem is the San Diego coaching staff and front office.
View of the Day: Midnight Madness
What an unbelievable weekend in sports! Lincecum/Halladay, Yankees/Rangers Game 2, Badgers/Buckeyes, Arkansas/Auburn, and then a whole bunch of NFL games on Sunday. With everything going on it is probably a surprise to many that the college basketball season began yesterday as many programs held their annual Midnight Madness festivities. One such program was St. John’s, whose hiring of a new coach, Steve Lavin, has renewed optimism for fans of the Red Storm. Can Coach Lavin keep the homegrown high school talent in the city and eventually have a shot at competing in the Big East? One of many storylines heading into the 2010-2011 college basketball season. For now, the MLB playoffs and football take center stage. Enjoy the view!
NFL Week 4 Sunday Recap
The Colts are bad. No, they’re good. Wait, really good. Hold on, bad again. This picture comes to us from today’s Jags/Colts game where Josh Scobee hit a game winning 59 yard field goal to send Indy home with a 2-2 record. What’s more amazing than the actual outcome of the game is that this section of the upper deck was not covered in a tarp. Much like the Rays in baseball, the Jaguars need to relocate. Now that USC is on probation, maybe LA gets another shot at pro football.
